Where do you work and what is your title:  Financial Aid Officer at UConn

What’s your favorite food?  Pasta

Why did you enter the Financial Aid field?  I was looking for a job on campus as an undergraduate and my friend worked in the Financial Aid Office.            

Most exotic place you visited? Hawaii!

What do you like about your job? Constant critical thinking and problem solving

What type of music do you like?  Anything I can sing along to

What’s the most difficult aspect of your job?  Not being able to help all students in need

Who is your favorite author? J.K. Rowling (big HP nerd)

What would you change about your job? Being able to work remotely from the beach all summer

What is the last book you read?  UConn’s PPM….

What was your most favorite training so far and why? DiSC Training; I had the opportunity to learn more about myself and my co-workers and how to maximize working relationships. Any opportunity for personal growth is always welcomed.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life? My parents

Where do you call home?  New London, CT

What do you do when you are not working? Spending time with family/friends

What advice would you give to someone new? Get use to change, better yet embrace change! There will never be a day that you won’t have to ask questions.

Where do you like to go on your vacation and what do you like to do? Anywhere near the ocean, preferably Hawaii. I love to sit on the beach with a book.

 If you had the power, what would you change in the Financial Aid field?  I would change the way we determine a family’s financial need.
