I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and is enjoying the fall weather. Executive Council has been quite busy over the last few months planning a great year filled with incredible opportunities for our members to learn, network, and grow together.
Don’t forget to renew your institutional membership this month in order to take advantage of all CAPFAA has to offer. Please remember that your membership extends beyond the Financial Aid Department. Perhaps one of our trainings would help your Admissions or Billing Department colleagues, so share the event with them! Better yet, invite them to attend with you!
Fall Training is quickly approaching and will help to provide stress relief to all of us who are worrying about Prior Prior Year. Thank you in advance to CAPFAA Vice President and Chair of Training Melissa Stephens. The Training Committee is doing an incredible job and I can’t wait to see the event in action! Thank you as well to the speakers, moderators, and anyone else I missed. We truly appreciate your guidance and support!
Winter Conference will wrap up the 2016 year and promises to be a great annual conference! The committee lead by Chair Kellie Webb and Co-Chair Elizabeth Schumacher is hard at work to deliver a new location, new agenda layout, thought provoking sessions, and exciting networking opportunities!
I hope you’ll keep an eye out for our Educational Series via the list serve and take advantage of joining a committee or two. Many of the groups meet remotely and utilize little time. Our organization thrives because of fantastic members like you and I hope you’ll check out our committees. They really are a lot of fun and you’ll meet great industry colleagues who will be there for a quick question, advice, or even a lunch date!
If you have questions, concerns, ideas or are interested in learning more about CAPFAA please let me know! I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones at our first event of the year, Fall Training!
See you soon,
Ashley Dutton, CAPFAA President
